From Michelle to Lisa
Hi my name is Michelle,
I have just begun my research so I may not have a lot of info or it could be a little off.
I too have a Maria Nichols that married a Joseph Boone. I have a bit of infor on the
Nichols for that is my line I am following. My dates are a little different. I have Marie
born in 1799 and died in 1863. My Joseph Boone born in 1789 and died in 1881. This family
left Maryland to Guernsey Ohio and then I know some of the Nichols went to Canton, MO.
We were told that this Joseph Boone was a relation to Daniel Boone. A cousin or something.
Like I said I just started my research so my facts could be a little off. If this is the
same Maria she was a sister to my ggggranfather.
I do have info on Maria sisters some counsins in MO. So please E-mail me if this sounds
close enogh to be your line too.

From Lisa to Michelle
Hi Michelle!
I think we're cousins!
I've just started a genealogy page at lisagene.com so please check it out.(If that doesn't
work try http://207.158.250.194/ ) My Joseph & Maria definitely started in Washington
County, MD. I have their marriage date, June 11, 1817, in that County, and have never been
able to obtain info on them further back than that date. I have never been positive about
the dates of Maria's birth. Here aresome notes I've done over the past:
This is cut and paste job I've done on a letter I sent to my genealogist cousins:
******************************************************
I just received 4 softbound books I ordered on Maryland genealogy stuff.
They are:
Western Maryland Newspaper Abstracts 1786-1798
Western Maryland Newspaper Abstracts 1799-1805 Vol. 2
Marriages and Deaths from the Newspapers of Allegany and Washington Counties, MD
Washington County, Maryland Church Records of the 18th Century 1768-1800
None of them mentions Joseph Boone, but other Boones are mentioned - I'll report on that
later. They don't look connected. I DID find some interesting info on the Nichols/Nickel
surname. I'm going to copy all my notes - you already have most of the info after the new
info. ENJOY!

Genealogical Notes
Goal: To determine parents or siblings of Joseph BOONE and Marie / Anne Marie
NICHOLS/NICKELL
Fact: Joseph Boone married Maria Nichols June 11, 1817 in Washington Co., Maryland.
Fact: At least one of their children was born in Washington Co. (Elias)
Facts - Approximate birth year of Joseph is 1790, Maria 1797.
Fact: From a book on cemeteries in Knox Co., MO, Ann M. Boone, 14 Feb 1799-8Apr 1868.
Fact: John A. Stauder's wife, Eliz. Evitt, was a first cousin to Parks BOONE, son of
Joseph. Source: Civil War Pension application of America Miller-BOONE, wife of Parks

From Michelle to Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I was so glad to hear back from you. So please don't feel like you are bothering me. I
love this I think it is so kewl!!!!
Anyway, yes you have permission to pass along any info I give that you would like to
share. I have only been doing this about 2 months so most of the info I got is from
letters of a William Wallace Henton who live in Canton, MO in 1918. He was a cousin of my
great grandmother. They were both Nichols. I'm not sure how interested you are in the
Nichols side. I'll explain things a little later in later in the lineage that I know of.
But first I would like to mention. The letter that I have from my ggrandmothers cousins. I
could make copies of them and send them to you if you are interested. They talk mostly of
the Nichols and Hentons. So let me know if you are interested.
Ok, let me try and type up this info for I have no genealogy program yet.
1. George and Elizabeth Wallace Nichols - Maria Nichols Parents Elizabeth b. about1777
George and Elizabeth had 4 children that I know of to this point.
1. Maria Nichols - ( she was the eldest) b.7/14/1799 (not proven)
2. Margaret Nichols- (married a Evett or Evitt) - b. 7/20/1801 - d. 5/14/1881
3. Perry Nichols - b. 1816 in Frederick, MD
4. William Nichols - (This is my ggggrandfather) unsure of date of birth George and
Elizabeth move to Guernsey, Ohio. They were there in 1830.
Perry Nichols - ( Marias' brother) married a Jane E. McCure(unsure of last name spelling)
in Bannersville, Ohio in 1840.
They had 6 children.
1.William Wallace
2. Elizabeth Jane b. 1844 - married a Walter Briscoe Henton
3. Elvira
4. Honora Melissa b. 1850
5. Laura Gertrude
6. Helena
This family was found in the1850 Guernsey Census. The mother of Maria and Perry was living
with her son Perry at this time aged 73
* Daughter of Perry and Jane - Elizabeth - somehow ended up in Canton, MO and married
Walter Briscoe Henton
Their children:
1. William Wallace Henton - the cousin who was writing my great grandmother.
2. Daisy Mae
3. Ora Lee
* William Nichols - Marias' brother
* married - unknown
* Had at least one child
1. Perry A. Nichols - my gggrandfather b. 1838 in Ohio
* Perry married a Emma Virginia Elliott of Virginia - b. They had at least 6 children-one
of which is my ggrandmother. So I could tell more of this line down to me. I hope I wrote
this in a way that makes sense.
I am going to Frederick, MD on Monday I live about an hour and half away. I believe
Frederick was made from Washington County or is right beside it. At some point down the
road I will be joining their historical society. After I learn what I am doing, possibly I
could help confirm some of the Boone info since this is the area that they are from.
Anyway let me stop before I bore you to death. So you have a great day. I look forward to
hearing from you in the future :)
Michelle

From Michelle to Diane & Lisa
Hi Diane and Lisa,
Just me Michelle again. Making sure you both got the info I sent earlier. Do you have the
children of Joseph and Maria?
I know they had 12 children, the only name I know is a Arrizda(spelling check).
1. Arrizda(?) was married in 1855 in Addina. Mo. Later lived in Mills Bank, South Dakota.
* Arrizda(?) had 11 children
unsure of anything more at this time.
Also could you clarify for me, we have always been told that this Joseph Boone was a
relation to Daniel Boone. If this is true do you know the exact relation??
Plus remember I will gladly make copies of the letters where I got most of this info. They
were written to my ggrandmother around 1918.
Hope some of this info has been of help. Plus I am excited to continue to share
communications in the future
Michelle

Hi!
I believe you're referring to Arminda or Araminda (I think they also called her Aminda).
She married William P. Shannon in Edina, MO. and moved to South Dakota. I only had a
record of one child in my database. Here's the descendant listing of Joseph & Maria,
all the way down. It may be easier to read itif you download to a word processor and make
the font smaller.........(not included here)
