BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SOME DOCUMENTS ABOVE: Civil War Pension application by America (Miller) Boone, based on her husband's service out of Knox County, Missouri. This pension file resulted in 22 pages of small print output. People interested in Knox County, Missouri from the Civil War and afterwards would be interested in this document. America Miller married Parks Boone on March 12, 1846 in Knox County, Missouri. Parks disappeared in cold weather in 1869, probably January or February. It was rumored that he "took off" with another woman, leaving America with nine children. My Gedcom index. This does not include most people in my family tree born after approximately 1910. I started this database when I saw interesting tidbits of information on copies of newspaper pages I took while researching my family. I'll update this file occasionally. Dependent Father's Pension Application - Joseph Boone Sr., filed this based on the Civil War service of his son Sylvester as a Private in Co. "E" 21st Missouri volunteer Infantry. Elias W. Boone - Mexican War Pension. Elias was living in Monroe County, MO when he mustered in. Sample: I am the identical Elias W. Boone, who served under the name of Elias W. Boone, as a 1st Lieutenant in the company A commanded by Captain Napoleon B. Giddings, in the 2nd regiment of Missouri Mounted Vol, commanded by Sterling Price, in the war with Mexico; that I enlisted at Fort Leavenworth on or about the 15th day of July, A.D., 1846, for the term of twelve months and was honorable discharge at Fort Leavenworth, Sept 1847.
Hugh M. Anderson - Last Will and Testament. Hugh is my 3rd great grandfather. He was born in Kentucky 1800-1805. He was dead by 1850. He died in Shelby County, MO. I am descended from his son, John Miller Anderson. This file contains his will, a partial page from a subsequent lawsuite regarding forcing a sale of land by his children, and a list of people who purchased personal property.
