In reviewing microfilm of newspapers published in Knox county, MO, I found the Cicruit court dockets with brief descriptions of what cases were to be held. I contacted Kathleen Wilham to pull a few for me. Record Circuit Court, Knox County, MO December Term, 1878 Page 7-332 #3366 Eliza J. Sheets, Pltff : Vs : Divorce Anthony Sheets : Deft : Now on this day comes the Plaintiff by her Attorney and the defendant although having been duly Summoned comes not but makes default it is therefore considered and ordered by the court that the plaintiff have judgment by default - ? defendant. And now all and singular the matters and facts being submitted to the court and after hearing all the evidence on part of plaintiff the court doth find that defendant has been guilty of adultery as stated in the petition (at divers times) and the Court further finds that defendant ought to and shall furnish alimony for the prosecution of this suit and for her own maintanance and that under all the evidence in the cause the plaintiff is justly entitled to a divorce and judgment for alimony It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the court that the marriage contract as mentioned in the plaintiffs petition be and the same is hereby desolved allowing the plaintiff free to go without restraint of any kind and the defendant remaining restrained for five years, from again marrying, and further that the plaintiff be restored to her maiden name Eliza J. Crawford and that she have and recover of the defendant the sum of TWO HUNDRED AND FITY DOLLARS as an alimony (allowed by this court) together with the costs and charges in the cause made and expended and that she have her execution therefor - (Note: I have a 2nd great grand aunt by the name of Eliza J. Crawford. I am not positive this is my aunt since there were other Crawfords living in the area, and Eliza J. was a very common name. A half sister of my Eliza also married a Sheets man.)

Boone Jr. : Defendant : At this day comes the Plaintiff by her attorney George R. Balthrope and makes proof of publication and the Defendant being three times solemnly called comes not but makes default. It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the Plaintiff have judgment by default against the said Defendant and this Cause continued. (Note: I have a great great grand uncle named Elias W. Boone, son of Joseph Boone, Sr. He was born in 1818 and died in 1899 in Adair County, MO. Ive never seen the "Jr." after his name before. I also have first cousin three time removed named Elias W. Boone. He is the son of my 2nd great grand uncle, Parks Boone. Im not sure which Elias W. Boone this suit is referring to.)
#3958 Matilda E. Claybrook : Plaintiff : Petition for Divorce VS : Joseph Claybrook : Defendant : At this day comes the plaintiff by her attorney Frank B. Hall and the Defendant although duly served with process and being three times solemnly called comes not but makes default. It is therefore considered and adjudged by the court that the Plaintiff have Judgement by default against the said Defendant and the cause continued.
Henry Clay and his wife Elizabeth Clay and Henry Clay, William Clay and Elizabeth Clay minor heirs Of Anna Clay deceased Plaintiffs Vs Rose Mallow et al Defendants Now comes Philip b. Linville and shows to the court that he was by order of the court made the trustee to hold and account for the Principal sum of $261. 65/100 and to pay the interest thereon to Henry Clay the father of the minor heirs of Anna Clay named William .(end of page available to me)
