Hello from Torrance, California! Hello, and welcome! I am developing this site with several goals in mind. The first goal on my list is a selfish one - I like the thought of having a website called lisagene.com! I want to share what genealogical research I have done already on my family, record data that can help my group of researching cousins organize our information, and have FUN! I started my ancestor searching in 1993, mostly out of a sense of guilt. I was the only one of my siblings and parents that was single, had time, and a mild interest in hunting down ancestors. Also, my heightened sense of time ticking by made me realize the importance of obtaining information while people are "available." I started asking questions...and at the very beginning found out that my own great grandfather was buried in a cemetery within 10 miles of my home! No one in my family knew that. I was hooked.! I took a genealogy course, studied at the local libraries, learned how to use a microfilm machine and order newspaper microfilm rolls through the inter-library loan program. Later, I discovered the internet, and through the Knox County, Missouri Genweb (where I project I met a few cousins (Nancy and Diane) who had the same ancestors I did. My research has lead me to some incredible family stories. Click on my "Document Index" above to see some!
